SIGNED BY THE AUTHOR: This softcover book is in fair condition overall. The cover of the book has some noticeable wear throughout, particularly along the binding and corners. There are also some markings as well on the cover, as well as on the edges of the pages. Inside, it is very noticeable that the binding of the book is worn down, and, particularly at the beginning of the book, that pages are starting to loosen from the binding. This issue does not extend throughout and effects around the first 40 pages of the book. The condition of the pages is very good overall. As mentioned above, the book has been signed by the author and also include what appear to be separate letters from the author as well. As this book is a donated item, we cannot personally verify the signatures and letters. 'Most readers will be gripped by the author's vivid descriptions of hard fighting with 45 RM Commando, in Normandy with the Special Service Brigade led by Lord Lovat DSO MC and later, in Holland and Germany. As a Royal Marine Captain in command of "Butcher Troop" Day saw more than his fair share of action, winning the Croix de Guerre, a Mention in Despatches and being badly wounded.', 'This is an invaluable contribution to the continuing debate on the future of Britain's security services, and should be required reading for all watchers of the secret world in which John Day served the Crown with such distinction.
